Enbloc were selected to design and build of a major new facility direct for the NHS Trust. The project was a new Pharmacy Aseptic Unit which will manufacture Chemotherapy, Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), Antibiotics and various intravenous drugs, and a range of ready to use injectable’s used across a broad spectrum of patient care within it’s hospitals.

Enbloc delivered the Aseptic Suite, along with the Toxic and Non-Toxic Cytotoxic Isolators, as a “turnkey” project. The Aseptic Unit was self contained and serviced by dedicated, air-handling plants to ensure segregation expected by the MHRA. HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters on the air supply and external ducted air extract, to the appropriate ISO 14644-1 Classification of Air Cleanliness Standard. The suite included Toxic and Non-Toxic Grade C cleanrooms, two Cytotoxic Isolators in each suite with the provision for future Isolators. There is also an Inner Support Grade D room with wall mounted LCD screens for monitoring and training of manipulations inside the Isolators. A number of Unclassified Support Areas were included in the scope of work. Enbloc were responsible for all the aspects of the construction work, building services provision and equipment supply interfacing between the Isolators and Cleanroom.
